This is an older version of the map, copyright 1950 and includes a recognition of the artist, Claude G. Putnam, Sr.
This is an ORIGINAL VINTAGE PIECE, not a modern reproduction!
The map is mounted to a sturdy board and has a glossy finish. The condition is excellent, except for the edges where there are some nicks and dents (see photos) but these would likely be hidden when framed. The illustration is still very vivid, with little fading. The color has turned slightly yellow with age. There are 2 grommet holes along the top for hanging with a cord. The light spot in the photos is glare from the lights.
A birds-eye view of the entire Southern California is shown in beautifully illustrated detail: from Las Vegas to the Pacific Ocean, from the San Fernando Valley and Mojave Desert to Mexico.
I bought this item in an antique store in California about 20 years ago. I have since moved to Chicago and need to sell as I am moving. Comes from a smoke-free home.
The details in the illustration include fishing boats, swimmers, airplanes, buildings of interest, surfers, fishermen, and a couple of pirate ships!
