Description

Vintage Advertising Trade Cardboard Trifold Funeral Home or Church Fan, Last Supper Theme. The fan is made from heavy cardboard, in three parts that rotate behind one another on a small grommet. The sides are pulled out to form the fan. It is printed with very realistic rendition of Leonardo Di Vinci's 15th C. painting 'The Last Supper. These fans were given out to the bereaved attending funerals in 1950 to 1960, were also used in church. The back contains advertising. The fan is in very good condition with no fading or surface wear, but has wear on the edges and one tabs is creased. The back is clean though slightly brown from age, but the printing on the back is still clear and easy to read. Please see all the photos above, to confirm the condition and contents of this auction.

A rare and original "Vintage Advertising Trade Cardboard Trifold Funeral Home or Church Fan, Last Supper Theme."  This lovely fan, when opened completely, measures approx. 10-1/2” x 7" (26.7 cm x 17.5 cm.)
This fascinating folding handheld fan, made from heavy cardboard, is in three parts that rotate behind one another on a small grommet. The sides are manually pulled out to form the fan.  It is printed with a very realistic rendition of Leonardo Di Vinci's 15th C. painting 'The Last Supper."   It becomes especially apparent, the more the fan is unfolded. The colors are bright … much brighter the the real painting is now.
These fans were given out to the bereaved attending funerals, by the funeral home i
n the hopes that people would take these fans home and remember their funeral home if they ever needed their services.
They were generally used during about 1950 to 1960, prior to the advent of air conditioning, especially in warm weather. The ironic thing is that on the
back the advertising for Rohlands Funeral home advertises that they have
two air conditioned parlors
.  In addition they advertise that they are "Lebanon County's Leading Funeral Directors" and have "parking facilities."
This item is in very good condition… Aged well with no fading.  There is also no surface wear, however it does have some minimal wear to the edges, and one of the pull-out tabs is creased. The back is clean though slightly brown from age, but the advertising copy on the back is still clear and easy to read.

Very seldom a package will get "stuck" in customs for as much as
