MTH Turbo Train Prototype/Engineering sample O scale

This is a one of a kind MTH archive item. Own a piece of hobby history with this MTH Turbo train! Already an MTH rarity, This is an engineering sample from MTH’s very own archive. Mike’s Train House helped bring the O Scale Hobby back to life competing with Lionel trains with more detailed and better manufactured trains. In 2020 During the COVID pandemic, MTH’s Founder and President Mike Wolf would decide to retire and close the business and a smaller MTH is set to start with some of its former employees.  This is indeed a great piece to own if you are a collector or enthusiast. It is marked as a working sample and has been tested! One engine car is primered and lit with regular lights but the unpainted sample seems to have LED lighting. Bell, horn and lights work, the cars do move in both forward and reverse but do exhibit a strange whirring sound and the wheels seem to have a hard time gaining traction. I did not want to push the unit too hard as it is a sample so keep that in mind. Anyone well versed in O scale trains should have no problem getting this running to full capacity or simply keeping as a show piece. I’m actually having a hard time letting go of this one myself!
