Description
Original 1912 to 1922 INDEX MAP of VERMONT and a 1950s to early 1960s booklet titled THE STORY OF OLD VERMONT IN PICTURES.On one side of the folded map is the whole map of the state of Vermont identifying towns and railroads and showing roads but without road numbers and on the other side is the index map of counties and towns in outline and various ads mostly from newspapers and printers. It was attached in something else as one blank panel shows it was glued. It was published by The National Survey of Chester, VT, founded in 1912 by two Crocker brothers. It is not dated by publisher but it has a copyright circle "C" which was required by the Copyright Act of 1909 and the Road Marking System for New England was incorporated in 1922 so I am dating this map 1912 - 1922. Map is in good condition with 1 1/2" long tear at top, minor edge; crease and corner wear; overall yellowing due to age; and some soiling due to handling. It measures about 18-5/8" x 11-7/8".
The softcover 44 page booklet was published by the National Life Insurance Company of Montpelier, VT. Cover shows some wear and dirt/stains. Pages are clean and intact as staple bound but have bent corners on the bottom. It is not dated but has picture of their "new" building in Montpelier which was built sometime 1950s to early 1960s. It measures about 7-1/2" x 5-5/16" x 1/8".

SALES/USE TAX NOTE: As of October 1, 2019, eBay will collect sales or use tax on applicable transactions for buyers in most states, such as Arizona, California, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah and so on. The applicable sales tax based on buyer's address will be added to your invoice to pay in eBay. Some states require the sales tax to apply to the shipping and handling and some do not (i.e., Massachusetts). For other states, I am based in California and sometimes sell items located in Massachusetts and my eBay sales do not require a sales tax to be collected as my total yearly sales are below those state's minimum requirements for either total dollars or number of transactions for a "remote seller". I am re-selling items collected by myself and family over many years and not buying new inventory to make a profit. eBay should not be charging the buyer a sales or use tax for those states not requiring a sales or use tax. Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon have no sales or use taxes at all. But states update their laws at any time, so please be aware.
